GDC Darhal commemorates World Health Day with zeal

DARHAL, Apr 8: Embracing the spirit of World Health Day, Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal orchestrated a vibrant affair on campus under the banner of Viksit Bharat @2047. The event, designed to underscore the significance of health and advocate for healthy lifestyle choices, witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty and students alike.
Presiding over the event, Principal Prof. Zameer Ahmed Mirza spearheaded the proceedings, lending his guidance to the various activities planned for the occasion. The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) committees, helmed by Dr. M Saleem Wani and Dr. Mohd Akhlaq respectively, orchestrated the event meticulously.
The ceremony kicked off with Dr. Saleem Wani delivering a warm welcome address, shedding light on the global theme of World Health Day 2023, "Our Planet and Our Health." Dr. Wani underscored the imperative to safeguard the environment, emphasizing its profound impact on collective well-being.
Dr. Akhlaq Ahmed navigated the program seamlessly, inviting students to partake in speeches, skits, and artistic performances elucidating diverse facets of health and hygiene. Topics ranged from nutrition and physical activity to mental health and preventive healthcare, offering a comprehensive outlook on holistic wellness.
Dr. Ghulam Abbas and Dr. Taseem Ahmed delved into insightful discussions on herbal medicines and the intersection of geography with health outcomes. Dr. Anzar Ahmed shared enlightening perspectives on the health benefits of spiritual practices and meditation, advocating for holistic approaches to well-being.
The event reached its pinnacle with a ceremonious prize distribution, honoring participants for their exceptional contributions and performances. Principal Prof. Zameer Ahmed Mirza commended the efforts of the IQAC and NSS committees, applauding their endeavors in orchestrating a memorable event. He urged students to imbibe healthy habits and actively contribute to community and national well-being.
The World Health Day celebrations at GDC Darhal resonated with resounding success, reaffirming the institution's commitment to fostering health awareness and inspiring healthier lifestyles among its vibrant community.
