Samba police arrests 2 bovine smugglers, rescues 14 bovines, seizes 2 vehicles

SAMBA, Apr 9: Samba Police has foiled two separate bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, arrested two bovine smugglers, rescued fourteen bovines and seized two vehicles used in the illegal transportation of bovines.
A Police team of Police Post Supwal headed by Incharge Police Post Supwal during vehicle checking at Naka Supwal, intercepted a TATA mobile bearing registration No JK02AX-.6629 coming from Jammu side for checking. During checking of the vehicle, four bovines were found laden inside which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
The bovine smugglers identified as Mushtaq Choudhary S/o Mohd Asgar R/o Lower Rangora, Sidra district Jammu and Abdul Wahid Chouhan S/o Abdul Rashid Chouhan R/o Manzmoh, Anantnag have been arrested and the vehicle has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 91/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
Similarly, a Police team of Police Post Mansar headed by Incharge Police Post Mansar during vehicle checking at naka Mansar, signaled to stop a dumper bearing registration No. JK19A-1290 for checking. But the driver instead of stopping the vehicle accelerated the speed and fled away from the spot. The alert naka party successfully chased the vehicle and intercepted it near Naka Nud. During checking of the vehicle, ten bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the bovines have been rescued and the vehicle used in the transportation has also been seized.
A case FIR No. 94/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
