SSP chairs review meeting for Parliamentary elections preparedness, festival security

RAMBAN, Apr 9: In a comprehensive review meeting convened to assess preparedness for the General Parliamentary Elections 2024 (GELS 2024) and ongoing festivals like Navratras and Eid-al-Fitr, SSP Ramban, Anuj Kumar IPS, led discussions on various critical aspects related to election readiness and security measures during festivals. The meeting aimed to ensure the safety and peaceful celebration of events amidst heightened security concerns. The meeting witnessed the presence of key officials including Gourav Mahajan-ASP Ramban, Om Prakash-Dy.SP Hqrs Ramban, Nihar Ranjan-SDPO Gool, Manjeet Singh-SDPO Banihal, Dr. Imtiyaz Ahmed-JKPS Dy.SP DAR DPl Ramban, and all SHOs/I/C PP's of Ramban District.
Discussions encompassed security arrangements for polling locations and booths, safeguarding of strong rooms, logistics for EVM machines, transportation protocols, communication strategies, law and order maintenance, emergency response procedures, and surveillance of potential threats.
Attendees were directed to closely collaborate with Civil Administration and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) involved in the election process to ensure smooth conduct. Emphasis was placed on maintaining vigilance over planned subversive activities by anti-national elements (ANEs), and reinforcing reporting mechanisms, particularly through strengthening Police Control Rooms (PCRs).
This concerted effort reflects the commitment of the district administration and law enforcement agencies to uphold the integrity and security of the electoral process, fostering an environment conducive to fair and incident-free elections.
