REASI, MARCH 04- In order to discuss the necessary arrangements for the ensuing Parliamentary Election scheduled to be held for Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency on 23rd April, 2009 the District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Mr. Sanjeev Verma convened a meeting of district as well as tehsil level officers at Mahore about 68 km away from the district head quarter today.
The Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mahore, Assistant Commissioner, Tehsildar Mahore, Tehsildar HQA, all district officers of various departments as well as tehsil level officers of Mahore, Dharmari and Arnas area participated in the meeting.
During the meeting Mr. Verma asked all the officers of various departments to be fully prepared for smooth, free and fair conduct of Lok Sabha Elections in the Reasi district. He said that Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has also been introduced and no employ of any department can leave the head quarter without proper permission from the District Election Officer. Necessary arrangements with regard to setting up of polling stations, deployment of polling staff, Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) training and other related issues were also discussed in detail with the officers present on the occasion.
Mr. Verma also met with representatives of various political parties and also discussed necessary arrangements with them for free, fair and smooth conduct of ensuing parliamentary election in the district. He asked them to provide best cooperation to the administration and in case of any complexity, inform the administration well in time so that the grievances of voters if any be sorted out in time.
Various deputations also met with the District Development Commissioner and putforth various demands of their respective areas and personal grievances before him. The DDC gave a patient hearing to their problems and assured them that their all demands would be redressed in phased manner on priority. Numbers of individual grievances were solved on the spot and he issued on the spot instructions to the officers of various departments to redress the grievances of common masses at the earliest.
