Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 10: Provincial President of J&K National Conference, Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, while extending Eid greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, laid stress on strengthening the secular fabric of the Union Territory.
The senior NC leader exchanged pleasantries with Muslim brethren during the Eid celebrations here at Eidgah Road on Tuesday. He anticipated that the auspicious occasion of Eid will usher Jammu and Kashmir in a new era of peace, prosperity and harmony.
"Pray for such festivals to be an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to strengthen the bonds of inclusiveness, share our joys with others and serve humanity", the Provincial President said.
Gupta was accompanied by several NC leaders including Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretary, Vijay Lochan Chairman JKNC SC Cell and Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Jammu Central Zone.
Extending Eid greetings, Gupta said "I am confident that the festival of "goodness and humanity" will help in bringing peace, prosperity, understanding, brotherhood and happiness in Jammu and Kashmir and pave the way for a new dawn where in people irrespective of caste, colour and creed will live together peacefully and participate in each other's festivals.
Describing Jammu as a symbol of communal harmony and secularism, he said all efforts must be made to strengthen the secular fabric of the region, which is pluralistic in nature. "Jammu has all along fought the forces which have been trying to create communal disharmony or promote divisiveness", he asserted. He appealed to one and all to uphold the traditional values of brotherhood and coexistence and together identify, isolate and defeat those, who are hell-bent upon disturbing peace and harmony in Jammu.
