Bovine laden truck burnt in Kathua

Kathua, March 4: A truck carrying bovines was burnt by angry mob here in Magarkhad area under the jurisdiction of Lakhanpur police station. After the incident people held protest demonstration against the police alleging police’s hand in glove with the illicit trade The incident occurred when the tyre of a truck bearing registration number JK02N,0163 carrying twelve bovines burst near Magarkhad area under the supervision of Lakhanpur police station during wee hours .Two persons were replacing the tyre when some locals spotted bovines in the truck. They set the truck on fire after rescuing the animals.Where as bovine smugglers managed to escape. Later they held protest demonstration against police. They alleged that the bovine smuggling is on rampant with the mutual cons cent of police officers. They also alleged that during night hours bovine smugglers are allowed by police to carry illicit trade and in return police officers get hefty amount. They urged administration to take action against those police officers who are assisting the animal slaughtering.
