ADGP law & order visits police office Reasi, take review of election preparedness

REASI, Apr 11: ADGP law & order Vijay Kumar-IPS (State Police Nodal Officer) conducted a significant visit to District Reasi, where he chaired a comprehensive security & election review meeting with officers including DEO Reasi, Vishesh Paul Mahajan-JKAS, SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma-IPS, *CO IR- 1st Bn Anita Sharma-IPS* Addl. SP Reasi Iftkhar Ahmed-JKPS, Addl. SP Katra Vipan Chandran-JKPS, SDPOs and other senior police officials. The meeting focused on devising strategic measures to enhance security, combat the threat of OGWs as well as ANEs to ensure the peaceful conduct of upcoming elections.
SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma-IPS, provided a detailed overview of the proactive measures taken by the police to address challenges at the grassroots level and breifed the chair regarding the election preparedness including enforcement of model code of conduct, expenditure monitoring, security plan, security of contesting candidates/Strong rooms, transport and communication plan and the functioning of SSTs, VSTs and FSTs and coordination efforts to ensure a successful election process.
Officers gave brief reports on action taken and next course of action. SSP Reasi gave an elaborate Power Point presentation on the preparedness of Parliamentary Election and DEO presented District Election Management Plan (DEMP).
ADGP law & order Vijay Kumar-IPS stressed the importance of establishing a robust security grid and taking all preventive measures to thrawt the attempts of ANEs to disturb the upcoming Parliamentary elections.
He emphasized leveraging modern technology for transparent and result-oriented policing and urged officers to adopt innovative approaches to tackle contemporary challenges.
In the meeting threadbare discussions were held regarding security arrangements for forthcoming Parliamentary Elections. All the officers shared their inputs & arrangements to ADGP L&O for peaceful conduct of Parliamentary Elections.
SSP Reasi briefed about various security arrangements in place for the peaceful conduct of these events in co-ordination with intelligence agencies and security forces deployed in the district.
ADGP L&O also expressed his concern to contain if there is any attempt to revival of militancy in the district by adopting a pro active approach and alertness of highest level.
Social media monitoring and generation of human intelligence was top among the directive of the Officer. Further directed to use full energy of jawans and give 100% for free, fair and peaceful conduct of Parliamentary Elections.
Meeting ended with the positive note on Coordination and Cooperation between all the security forces & sister agencies.
