| Make wealth inventory | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, March 4: To make the campaign against corruption effective, if at all there is a will, the assembly today got a unique suggestion. A multifaceted legislator –engineer by profession and columnist by passion –Sheikh Rashid suggested making an inventory of the assets of public men and women from top to bottom for making an understanding as where exactly the scenario stands. Participating in discussion on Vote on Account in legislative assembly today, Engineer Rashid said initiatives against have always remained half hearted and often succumbed to political conveniences. He said that the level of corruption was never known in Jammu and Kashmir and after every so called war against corruption the level of this social menace has only grown. Engineer Rasheed suggested making an inventory of wealth of all public men in an hierarchal manner particularly in Politics, Police and Revenue. The Minister for Finance, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rahim Rather appreciated the idea and said that the government would like to work with sincerity to end corruption.
