GDC Ramgarh hosts awareness programme

Ramgarh, Apr 15: Police Department, Samba. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Surinder Choudhary -JKPS, Additional SSP Samba. The event was organised under the supervision of Principal Dr. Geetaanjali Andotra. In her welcome address the Principal welcomed the Chief Guest and the team from Amar Ujala and highlighted the relevance of holding such programmes wherein the youth is made aware about the ill effects and repercusions of drug abuse and related activities which have devastating impact on individual, family and large section of society. She expressed her gratitude to the police department and the Amar Ujala foundation for reaching out to the youth and holding this awareness programme.
The Chief Guest Shri Surinder Choudhary - JKPS, Additional SSP, Samba, in his presidential address spoke on drug abuse and described consumption and trade of narcotics as the worst possible crime. He further apprised the students about various criminal activities related to drug abuse that are punishable under law and exhorted the students to stay away from such activities to secure their future and help in nation building. He also emphasized that police needs the support and cooperation of youth to win the war against drug abuse and Narcotics. Further, students of the college, namely, Jagmeet kour, Radhika shukla and Tanu sharma participated in the symposium on the topic & Nasha Mukht Bharat.
The Participating students were presented with prizes by Amar Ujala Foundation. All the faculty and students of the college enthusiastically witnessed the programme. The vote of Thanks was presented by Dr. Aditi Khajuria.
