| Self Rule only viable solution of all problems : PDP | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Mar 5- Senior PDP leaders Mohammad Dilawar Mir and Peer Mohammad Hussain have said that a solution to all problems in the region is possible only within a space provided by co-operation and reconciliation between India and Pakistan. In a joint statement issued here today, PDP leaders said that it would be disastrous to fall into the trap laid by the enemies of peace. They added that the attack on Sri Lankan Cricket team and the Mumbai attacks necessitated a joint response from India and Pakistan to ensure that the disruptive elements are not able to sabotage the peace process or weaken the forces of reconciliation in the region. PDP leaders asserted that both the nations need to isolate the hawkish elements who have developed vested interests in Indo-Pak animosity that only can help anchor a peaceful and prosperous region. Bold diplomatic initiatives based on wisdom intended to complement a political process that has started many times but has never been completed, could go a long way in improving ground situation in the region. They said that terrorism and extremism is a common enemy of both the countries making it imperative for India and Pakistan to fight it jointly by identifying the root causes where from it germinates and setting in motion a resolution process through confidence building and mutual trust. They asserted that the self rule document presented by PDP encompasses all such measures so as to enable people of the region harvest the benefits of peace with special reference to the people of Jammu and Kashmir who have been the prime victims of animosity between India and Pakistan.
