| LG employees allege discrimination in Pay | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 5- Strongly condemning the discriminatory attitude of the state government towards its employees, Jammu and Kashmir Lower Grade Employees Union (LGEU) Civil Secretariat in an emergent meeting held under the chairmanship of its President Abdul Majid Bhat has impressed upon the government to implement the pay commission recommendations in the same manner as has been done in case of IAS officers working in Jammu and Kashmir. The Union has sought immediate orders in this regard without forcing the employees to adopt the path of agitation. The meeting was reportedly called due to the situation that has arisen in view of the attitude adopted by the state government in implementing the recommendations of the 6th pay commission. The meeting felt that the recent statement of the Finance Minister in the Legislative Assembly has hurt the sentiments of the employee community and has caused unrest among them. The government has implemented the recommendations of the pay panel in respect of IAS and IPS officers and arrears to that effect have been given in cash as per the orders issued by the Central Government, the Union in a handout claimed and said that as per rules, the recommendations of the commission should have been implemented in respect of state government employees in the same manner. The meeting among others was attended by Narayan Dutt, vice president, Farooq Ahmed secretary, Mohammed Afzal Lohar, publicity secretary, Joginder Khanna, office secretary besides the working committee members.
