Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 18: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Thursday asserted that the central government led by PM Narendra Modi brought over 25 crore souls out of dingy state of poverty.
The BJP stalwart was addressing an election rally here at Indira Colony in Shastri Nagar locality falling in Ward No. 20. Asha Sharma organised today's programme in which Vinay Gupta, senior BJP leader, Jaideep Sharma Ex Corporator, Narinder Koki District Vice President and Bharat Bhushan Mandal President were present.
Kavinder said that despite decades of Congress' Gareebi Hatao Campaign, the poor strata of society was forced to live below the poverty line but it was the ten years of PM Modi's rule that over 25 crore people across the country can proudly say that they are not poor or underprivileged today.
The senior BJP functionary said that the work accomplished by the BJP leadership in the country in the last decade took a bit longer only due to problems gifted by the grand old party Congress, as Modi Government had to undo many wrongs committed by 'scam-riddled' party's leadership. He said, "While Congress neglected the poor strata of the society for decades together, the Modi Government is working to make the same prosperous and provide them opportunities to live a dignified life".
Kavinder said under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the government's flagship initiative, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY), has realized the dreams of crores of people of the country by providing them with their own homes. This landmark scheme stands as a testament to the government's unwavering commitment to housing for all, particularly the economically disadvantaged sections of society, he added.
The former Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that a vote to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) signifies another significant stride towards alleviating poverty and enabling individuals to access the multitude of benefits offered by public welfare schemes. Among these transformative initiatives stands the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY), which has fulfilled the aspirations of thousands by granting them the pride of homeownership. Additionally, schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Ujjwala Yojna have furthered the government's commitment to holistic welfare, ensuring access to healthcare and clean cooking fuel for millions. He underscored the BJP's dedication to uplifting lives and building a more prosperous and equitable society.
