Director SSDD, engage with students to foster sericulture excellence

JAMMU, Apr 21: The Director of J&K State Sericulture Development Department, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat (IAS), engaged in a meaningful interaction with the students of the Department of Sericulture, Poonch Campus during his visit to the Central Silk Board (CSB) located at Miran Sahib, Jammu. This visit aimed to foster closer ties between the department and its students, as well as to explore avenues for enhancing their learning experiences.
Accompanied by Incharge Department of Sericulture, Poonch Campus Dr. Rubia Bukhari and officials of CSB, Director J&K SSDD interacted extensively with the students undergoing a 45-day training program at the CSB premises. He reassured them of the department's commitment to organizing exposure tours, enriching their practical knowledge in sericulture.
During the interaction, Director Bhat commended Dr. Rubia Bukhari for her pivotal role in driving transformative initiatives such as the Cocoon Artistry Initiative and the promotion of sericulture in the region. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in the socio-economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Director of Poonch Campus, Professor Rakesh Vaid, also recently visited the P.G. scholars from Poonch Campus, University of Jammu, who are currently engaged in their 45-day dissertation program at the Regional Sericultural Research Station in Miran Sahib, Jammu. During his visit, Professor Vaid assured the students of the campus's commitment to exploring opportunities for organizing various programs aimed at exposing them to the latest techniques in sericulture promotion. This pledge reflects the campus's dedication to providing students with comprehensive learning experiences to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field.
Director of Poonch Campus, Professor Rakesh Vaid, expressed appreciation for the teaching faculty's dedication in imparting knowledge to the students of Poonch Campus, emphasizing their crucial role in shaping the students' educational journey.
Dr. Rubia Bukhari, Incharge Department of Sericulture, Poonch Campus, underscored the significance of sericulture in the region and expressed gratitude to Director Sericulture for dedicating his valuable time to interact with the students. She highlighted the importance of such interactions in motivating and inspiring the students towards excellence in their chosen field.
