| Indu calls on women to take lead in nation building | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 6- Mahila Congress workers, on the occasion of Women’s Day, held at meeting at Mandal Phallain, Jammu to discuss various measures for the empowerment of women in the state. He meeting was held under the chairmanship of Indu Pawar MLA and President J&K Mahila Congress. Addressing the workers Pawar enlightened the women of their rights and their importance in the development of society and in nation building. She laid stress on literacy and vocational training programs especially for the rural women and advised the women to be united as the time has come for them to lead the society as well as the Nation. She asked the women to send their children especially girls to schools for receiving both academic and technical education. She further said women should be aware of their rights and day to day happening around the globe. They should come forward and fight for their rights. There is every scope for women to excel in medicine, engineering, politics, force or any other field. Time has come to work shoulder to shoulder with male counterparts and it is seen in some places women shines in many areas. She assured her full cooperation for the welfare and awakening of women in pursuit of the demands. She further asked the women to avail the facilities under various government schemes. Prominent those who were present in the meeting included Usha Rani, Raj Kumari, Kailash Devi, Reva Devi, Champa Devi, Neelam Seema and Asha Devi.
