| Rape accused gets 7 years | | |

Reasi, Mar 06- Principal Sessions Judge Reasi AK Koul today awarded seven years imprisonment and fine of Rs 5000 to accused Nishat Ahmed son of Mohammed Hussain of Gorta Tehsil of Reasi district holding him guilty for offence u/s 376 RPC.
According to the prosecution case on May 27, 2007 a written report was lodged in the police station Reasi alleging therein that about 5-6 pm when the daughter was alone in the rented room, the accused Nishat Ahmed came on a Motor Cycle and went inside the room of the prosecutrix. He bolted the door from inside the room and committed rape upon the prosecutrix against her will by closing her mouth and threatened to kill her and her family if she raised alarm. She narrated the fact and thereafter a written report was lodged. Police completed investigation within shortest period and arrested accused and filed challan within a month. Court after completion of trial held guilty accused for the offence u/s 376 RPC and awarded 7 years imprisonment and Rs 5000 fine. JNF
