| Sitlee to begin filtering water by April | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, MARCH 06– The PHE Minister Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din today informed the House that about 304 Water Filtration Plants have been sanctioned in the State during last two years. Out of these, he said 63 Filtration Plants have been incorporated in different projects of Water Supply Schemes of sub-division Banihal. Replying to a question of Mr. Vikar Rasool Mir, the Minister said that under ARWSP and MNP schemes 194 Water Supply Schemes and Filtration Plants costing over Rs 273.33 crore have sanctioned for Jammu division, whereas, 172 schemes costing Rs 443.85 crore have been sanctioned for Kashmir division. Replying to the supplemntaries, the Minister said that work on Sitlee Water Plant-III is in full swing and would be completed by ending April this year. He said Boria Filtration Plant is scheduled to complete in August this year for which water from Ravi Tawi will be lifted to meet the drinking water requirements of the people in the area. Those who raised supplementaries regarding status of various Water Filtration Plants in their respective areas include Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Mr. Abdul Majid Wani, Mr. Javed Mustafa Mir, Mr. Rafi Ahmad Mir and Mr. Irfan Ahmad Shah.
