| 49 members highlight issues during Zero Hour | | | Early Times report
JAMMU, March 06 – In the Legislative Assembly today, as many as 49 members sought Governments’ attention for improving basic facilities and mitigating public problems in the their respective constituencies. Formulation of a comprehensive policy regarding employment to the unemployed youth by the Government and repairment of social infrastructure, particularity roads and hospitals dominated the Zero Hour. Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Jan demanded payment of relief to the victims of earthquake, while as Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan demanded immediate repair of Rajouri-Shahdra Sharief road. Mr. Javaid Ahmad Dar raised query regarding inadequate staff in the higher secondary schools of his area and Mr. Harshdev Singh demanded clear policy from the Government regarding unemployment. Mr. Nizam-ud-Din Bhat brought the issue of inadequate staff in community health centre at Bandipora to the notice of the House and Mr. Radhay Sham Sharma demanded exemption of electricity fee from migrants living in Nowshera constituency. Mr. Khalil Bandh demanded immediate improvement of various roads in Pulwama and Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta asked the Government to consider reservation for the people living along the international border. Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri asked the Government to pay compensation to the people who donated their land for Khanabal-Pahalgam road widening, while as Mr. Waqar Rasool Wani stressed on the Government to take measures for keeping the Jawahir Tunnel open for traffic round-the-clock and Mr. Lal Chand asked the Government to enhance the supply of ration to the people of his constituency. Mr. Jugal Kishore demanded posting of patwaris in the blocks of his constituency, while as Mr. Basharat Bukhari demanded de-silting of canals in his constituency and Mr. A. G. Malik demanded filling of the posts of Naib-Tehsildars. Mr. Ashok Kumar demanded honorarium to VDC members while as Mr. Ashwani Sharma advocated widening of Bishnah road. Mir Saifullah demanded compensation to land owners whose land has been occupied by security forces and Mrs. Bimla Luthra expressed her concern over shortage of accommodation in SMGS Hospital. Peerzada Mansoor demanded construction of Pahalgam-Mattan-Achhabal road, while as Mr. Sajad Ahmad Kitchloo demanded completion of Water Supply schemes in Kishtwar. Mr. Raman Bhalla demanded four-laning the road from Satwari to Kunjwani, while as Mr. Feroz Ahmad Khan showed concern over shortage of Kerosine in Kargil district and Dr. Manohar Lal expressed dissatisfaction over dilapidated conditions of roads of hilly areas. Dr. Shafi Ahmad demanded repair of transformers, while as Mr. Abdul Haq Khan demanded regular supply of drinking and irrigation water in Lolab and Mr. Durga Dass demanded supply of electric poles to farmers of Hiranagar. Mr. Zulafkar Ali demanded re-organization of education department, Mr. Javaid Mustafa demanded ex-gratia to victims of recent agitation and Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad demanded construction of bridge over Tral-Shikargah road. Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi demanded opening of Gurez road while as Ms Sakina Itoo demanded upgradation of roads in her constituency and Syed Rahullah demanded proper accommodation for Degree College, Budgam. Others members who also highlighted the matters of public importance in the Zero Hour included Qamar Ali Akhoon, Mr. Abdul Majid Wani, Ch. Sham Lal, Mr. Yash Paul Kundal, Mr. G. M. Saroori, Mr. B. S. Mankotia, Mr. Bharat Bushan, Mr. Irfan Shah, Mrs. Indu Pawar, Mr. Gharu Ram, Mr. Rashpal Singh, Mr. Rafi Ahmad Mir, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani, Mr. Baldev Raj, Mr. Abdul Rashid Sheikh and Mr. Jagdish Sapolia.
