Previous ration scale restored: Sagar

JAMMU, March 06 – The Minister for Rural Development, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar on Friday said that Government has restored the scale of 11 kg rice and 2 kg wheat per individual per month for ration card holders.
Minister said the scale which was few months back reduced was restored following a Cabinet decision.
Minister was replying to Calling Attention Notice moved by Mir Saihfullah in the Legislative Assembly to draw the attention of Government towards the situation arisen following non-availability of food-grains in ration stores of district Kupwara besides, less scale of ration being provided in the district.
Giving details, Minister said that there are 324 sale outlets operating in Kupwara district for providing food-grains to the rationees. The department has released 35000 qtls rice as against monthly off-take of 312000-32000 qtls rice, adding that there is no question of scarcity of ration in the district.
