Early Times Report
RS PURA, Apr 27: In alignment with the Government of India's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a cornerstone initiative for fostering a clean environment and indicative of human progress, the NSS unit of GDC R. S. Pura took proactive steps by organizing a cleanliness drive on April 27, 2024. As part of their regular NSS activities, the unit orchestrated a comprehensive cleanup effort both within and outside the college campus. Commencing from the College Campus and extending to the adjacent approach road, volunteers diligently embarked on various tasks aimed at enhancing cleanliness and hygiene. Along the approach road, volunteers cleared away unwanted bushes, trimmed overgrowth, and diligently picked up plastic garbage littering the vicinity. Moreover, they meticulously removed grass and weeds from the roadside divider, contributing to a cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing environment. The event, which witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 30 volunteers, received unwavering support and guidance from Prof(Dr.) Rajni Bhagat, the esteemed Principal of the College. Prof. Bhagat interacted with the NSS volunteers prior to the launch of the campaign, commending their dedication and urging them to continue their efforts. She expressed appreciation for the initiatives undertaken by the NSS Program officers and volunteers, emphasizing the significance of community-driven initiatives in promoting cleanliness and environmental stewardship. The NSS Program officer, Dr. Chanchal Angral, played a pivotal role in providing guidance and supervision throughout the event. Additionally, the efforts of Prof. Shifali Abrol and Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch were instrumental in organizing and facilitating the successful execution of the cleanliness drive. This initiative not only underscores the commitment of GDC R. S. Pura towards promoting a clean and sustainable environment but also exemplifies the spirit of civic responsibility and community engagement fostered within the institution. Through such concerted efforts, the NSS unit continues to contribute positively towards the larger goal of achieving a cleaner and healthier society as envisioned by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
