| Simplify CRF relief process: Speaker | | | Early Times report
JAMMU, March 06 – Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone on Friday directed the Government to explore the possibility of simplifying the process of providing relief to the fire victims admissible under CRF norms. Speaker suggested that the tehsildar should be authorized to sanction the relief in such cases instead of Deputy Commissioners. Speaker was intervening the supplementaries raised by Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir on reply to his Calling Attention Notice in Legislative Assembly moved to call the attention of Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation towards the situation that has arisen due to fire incident at Watalpora and Gogaldar Tangmarg causing inconvenience to the victims. Earlier, Minister for Finance Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather, while replying to the Call Attention Notice said that two residential houses and a cowshed were completely gutted at Watalpora on February 14, 2009 while another residential house was partially damaged in fire incident at Gogaldar on January 10, 2009. He said Government has initiated the case for relief to the victims under CRF. He assured the House that the relief cases of the victims would be expedited.
