| Govt to revive sick PSUs | | | Early Times report
JAMMU, March 06– The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. S. S. Slathia on Friday assured the Legislative Assembly that the Silk Factory and Bemina Wollen Mill would be re-started by introducing modern equipments and trained manpower. Replying to a Call Attention Notice moved by Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani to call the attention of Government towards closure of Public Sector Units, the Minister said that Government has a comprehensive programme to upgrade silk factory and other PSUs by upgradation and modernization of machinery and other infrastructure. He said in case of Bemina Woolen Mill, the Board of Directors proposed an investment of Rs. 163.00 lakh for modernization, re-engineering and of installed machinery and infrastructure. The Board has constituted a sub-committee comprising Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development, Commissioner/Secretary, Finance, Commissioner/ Secretary, Industries and Commerce and Managing Director, JKI Ltd to deliberate upon the revival plan and come up with its recommendations. The meeting of the sub-committee is being held shortly, he added.
