Indian Red Cross Society extends swift relief to Ramban victims

JAMMU, May 1: In response to the recent calamitous land sinking incident in Ramban District, the Indian Red Cross Society's Jammu and Kashmir unit, under the astute leadership of Manoj Sinha, Hon'ble Lt. Governor and President of IRCS J&K, alongside Rohit Khajuria, General Secretary, IRCS, J&K-UT, and the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, sprang into action to provide essential relief to affected families.
On the 26th of April, 2024, when the land sinking ravaged homes and disrupted lives, leaving many without shelter or basic necessities, the Indian Red Cross Society swiftly mobilized its resources to aid the distressed community.
Tents, tarpaulins, kitchen sets, darees, buckets, towels, and cotton khes were among the critical supplies distributed to ensure the immediate needs of affected families were addressed.
Expressing the society's unwavering commitment, Rohit Khajuria affirmed, "In times of disaster, our foremost duty is to stand by our fellow citizens. Our team's relentless efforts have been directed towards ensuring timely assistance reaches those most in need. We remain steadfast in our support for the rehabilitation of the affected families and are collaborating closely with local authorities to bolster our disaster preparedness endeavors."
The Indian Red Cross Society continues its pledge to stand shoulder to shoulder with the residents of Ramban District as they endeavor to rebuild their lives in the aftermath of this tragedy. Efforts have also been initiated to escalate the matter to the National Headquarters of the Indian Red Cross Society, urging expedited supplies of relief materials to further alleviate the suffering of the affected populace.
This swift and coordinated response underscores the humanitarian ethos of the Indian Red Cross Society, reflecting its unwavering commitment to serving humanity in times of crisis.
