| Uproar in assembly on unemployment | | | Munish Gupta Jammu, March 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today witnessed uproar as the opposition members criticized the government for not having any policy to meet the rising unemployment problem in the state. Replying to a question by JKNPP member Balwant Singh Mankotia during zero hour as to whether the government had promised to provide one job to at least one member of each family in the state, Minister for Industries and Commerce Surjit Singh Slathia answering on behalf of minister for labour and employment said no such promise was made. Reacting to the reply from the government given by the Minister for Industries, Commerce, Labour and Employment Surjit Singh Slathia that no promises were made of providing job at least to one member of each family in the state, the opposition members of the BJP, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party and Peoples Democratic Party created uproar in the House and shouted slogans.,berozgaron ko rozgar do, yeh sarkar nikammi hai, the opposition members assembled in the well of the House. BJP MLA Ashok Kahjuria on the occasion said that "Government has not yet come up with an employment policy to meet the problem of increasing unemployment," Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone while pacifying the situation said the opposition members misquoted the Ministers reply. "The Minister actually wanted to say that the policy has not been framed yet but Committee will be set up soon as it may take some time,” Lone said. But the opposition members created uproar asserting that the government is playing with the sentiments of the youth and staged walkout from the House.
