| Farooq smells PDP- BJP nexus | | | Early Times Report
Jammu March 7, 2009: Accusing People’s Democratic Party of entering into an unholy alliance with the BJP, National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah castigated PDP for their dubious alliance which got exposed in today’s Legislative Council election. In a press statement issued here today the NC president said PDP has always deceived the people of Jammu and Kashmir right from the day it came into existence and today it mortgaged its conscious to the BJP’s ideology and joined hands with them. He said it is sad that PDP has always compromised the interests of the people of the state for the petty political and personal gains. Dr. Abdullah said that while the PDP claims to be champion of the people of Kashmir, they (PDP) have always betrayed the interest of the people of Kashmir for their petty pecuniary benefits. He said his party, unlike PDP, does not believe in politics of deceit, hollow slogans and false promises. “NC has never attempted hoodwinking the people by making false promises and changing ideologies” he added. Lambasting PDP for having developed a habit of ''befooling'' the masses, Dr Abdullah said Mufti’s role in 1984, the imposition of Governor Jagmohan on the people of Kashmir, massacre of innocent people there after and an era of use of brutal force on the people of Kashmir during Mufti’s tenure as Home Minister is an open book for the people of the state who can read PDP politics of deceit perpetuated by the party on the people of the state. Dr. Abdullah said it is ironical that the PDP which is making hue and cry about the draconian laws has been instrumental in the enactment of these laws in a bid to curb the aspirations of the people of the state.
