Jammu police foils multiple bovine smuggling attempts

JAMMU, May 4: Jammu police tightening noose against bovine smugglers under operation Kamdhenu Police Station Nagrota foiled two bovine smuggling bids in which 23 bovines were rescued and 02 vehicle Canter (truck) bearing registration No JK19A/8276 and Vehicle Truck bearing registration No.JK14J/8538 seized from Naka Ban Toll Plaza, Bovine smuggler namely Asif Iqbal S/o Mohd Iqbal chandroh District Ramban arrested and driver of the vehicle bearing registration No.JK14J8538 fled away from the spot due to the advantages of darkness.
In this regard two FIR:-
FIR No.130/2024 and FIR No.133/2024 U/Ss 188/IPC 11 PCA Act 50/52/54/56 Transport of animal rule stands registered in Police station Nagrota.
Two more bovine smugggling bids foiled by Police Station Jhajjar Kotli in which 09 bovine animals were rescued and 01 vehicle Truck bearing registration number JK13F-5044 seized and driver noticing the alertness of Police at Naka point Suketar (Jhajjar kotli)fled away from the spot after leaving his vehicle.
10 bovines were rescued by PP Manwal when Makhan Din S/O Jumma Din R/O Upper Thanua Kaldi Udhampur transporting them by foot without any legal permission.He was arrested on spot and two FIR stands registered in PS Jhajjar Kotli:-
FIR No.107/2024 and FIR No. 108/202 U/Ss 188 IPC,11PCA stands registered in PS Jhajjar Kotli.
Further investigation in all the four cases registered in Subdivision Nagrota are in progress.
General pubic have appreciated the stringent actions taken by police against the bovine smugglers.
