Early Times Report
LEH, May 4: Ladakh's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Nucleus Cell (MSME-DNC) has marked significant progress in the implementation of various schemes and initiatives aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and economic development in the region. Under the purview of the Ministry of MSME, Ladakh's MSME-DNC, covering both District Leh and Kargil, has seen a remarkable surge in program execution and beneficiary outreach compared to the previous year.
Officially inaugurated on 14/02/2024, the MSME Development Nucleus Cell Office witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, MP of Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, and Tashi Kachu, Chairman, Ladakh Chamber of Industries & Commerce. The event, coordinated by G. Velladurai, Joint Director of MSME DFO Jammu, J&K, marked a significant milestone in Ladakh's MSME sector development.
During the financial year 2023-24, MSME-DNC Ladakh organized a total of 09 programs, encompassing Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs (EAPs), Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) Awareness Programs, PM Vishwakarma Seminars and Workshops, and Procurement Marketing Support (PMS) Awareness Programs. These initiatives collectively benefitted 3505 participants across both District Leh and Kargil, including remote areas such as Rupsho, Kharsa, and Vill. Phyang. This significant increase in beneficiary participation reflects a substantial leap from the mere 120 participants benefited in the preceding year's programs, demonstrating Ladakh's growing engagement with MSME initiatives.
The commendable achievements of MSME-DNC Ladakh can be attributed to the dedicated efforts of individuals such as Shri Sonam Targias and Thinles Tsomo, who have diligently overseen the execution of various activities within the office. Their commitment and perseverance have played a pivotal role in expanding the reach and impact of MSME schemes in Ladakh, empowering local entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth in the region.
As Ladakh continues to strive for economic prosperity and sustainable development, the success of MSME-DNC serves as a testament to the collective efforts aimed at realizing the region's full potential in the MSME sector.
