Pathania lambastes government for its misgovernance
3/8/2009 3:03:10 PM

Early Times Report

Ramnagar, Mar 7- RS Pathania, Advocate, who had unsuccessfully contested Assembly elections from Ramnagar constituency today, came down heavily upon the local administration for unleashing worst reign of under-development, mis governance and maladministration. Despite tall claims of providing all basic opportunities, responsive and corruption free administration, the Ramnagar segment was suffering badly for want of basic facilities like road connectivity, power and drinking water.
He was addressing his workers at Ramnagar today. He said that the mustard crop in villages falling in Basantgarh block has come under sudden ‘aphid’ attack but the Department of Agriculture is watching all this like mute spectators .
Pathania also demanded constitution of delimitation commission in the state and giving due share to the Jammu region in both political and development fronts. He said the recent agitation in the wake of land transfer row has given a signal, loud and clear, that the people of Jammu cannot be taken far granted and they have the potential to assert their political and civil rights. Pathania further gave a clarion call to all the political parties to come on one platform and initiate a peoples’ movement for seeking justice for the people of Jammu. He further launched a scathing attack on political parties for making an issue out of delimitation. He said that Harshdev Singh, who had tabled the Delimitation Bill in the present assembly session, is required to be put to strict proof of the fact as to why he was a silent spectator to the law enacted in 2001 freezing the delimitation till 2026. His party, on one hand, is tabling the Bill, while on the other hand, is presenting a petition in the State High Court, there by making the issue as sub judice.
The meeting was also addressed by Bhushan Modi, Behari Lal, Shiv Charan, Gopal Singh, Imran Hussain, Rukman Din, Kuldip Singh, Jag Mohan, Mohammed. Din, Bikram Singh and Charanjit Singh.
