| Police registers 3 FIRs arrests 3 bovine smugglers seized 2 vehicles | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, May 6: Jammu and Kashmir Police Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators under Operation KAMDHENU, Ramban police under the supervision of SSP Ramban Anuj Kumar-IPS has foiled bovine smuggling attempts, registered 03 FIRs arrested 03 bovine smugglers, rescued 41 bovines and seized 02 vehicles.
Police team of Police station Batote headed by SHO Batote during Patrolling duties intercepted a person namely Bashir Ahmed son of Abdual Rashid resident of Khadniyar,Baramulla who was taking 11 bovine animals on foot towards kashmir without any valid permission.
In another instance Police Party of PS Chanderkote headed by SHO Chanderkote foiled Bovine smuggling bid intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No JK 21H 3068 and held one person namely Ashiq Ali son of Shaffi Mohd resident of Gool Ramban.During checking 4 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally towards Kashmir. In another instance Police Party of PS Banihal headed by SHO Banihal foiled a bovine smuggling bid, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration No JK19 A 5234 and held one person namely Asif son of Mohd Arif resident of Ramban. During checking, 26 bovines were found laden inside both the vehicles, which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally towards Kashmir.
As a result, a total of 41 bovine animals were rescued under the operation "KAMDHENU." Subsequently, FIR Nos. 61/2024 was registered at Police Station Batote, FIR No 60/2024 at PS Chanderkote and FIR No 64/2024 at PS Banihal under Sections 188 IPC and under section 11 of the Prevention of cruelty to Animals Act. The investigation has been initiated into these cases. 02 persons arrested and 02 vehicles involved in the commission of offence have been seized.
The successful rescue operation was conducted by Police parties led by SHO Police Station Batote, SHO PS Chanderkot and SHO PS Banihal under the supervision of Dysp Hqrs Ramban, SDPO Banihal, Addl.SP Ramban, with the overall supervision by SSP Ramban. |
