DD&OE, organises farewell party for BEd distance learners

JAMMU, May 6: Directorate of Distance and Online Education (DD&OE), University of Jammu organised a grand farewell party for its B.Ed Semester IV outgoing students, session 2022-2024. The B.Ed students who got enrolled during the session 2022 underwent a two year rigorous training course and completed their two years Journey with the Directorate. To bid them farewell, a colourful cultural programme cum farewell party was organised in the seminar hall of the department. The programme started with the lightning of traditional lamp by the Director, DD&OE, Prof. Pankaj Kumar Srivastva accompanied by B.Ed programme coordinator Dr. Jaspal Singh Warwal, along with his team members. There after the program was formally set opened by Dr. Jaspal who besides welcoming the chief guest highlighted the outline of the day's program. Thereafter, the Director address the gathering and in his addressal, he appreciated the students for their hard work and dedication throughout their course work as well as in presentation of the show on the concluding day. Dr. Srivastva also highlighted the strengths and some of the forthcoming initiatives of the DD&OE like constitution of alumni association and forthcoming workshop on Design and Development of Self Learning Material (SLM) for distance learners.
Nearly 250 In-Service Teachers attended the Celebration. The organizing committee of the programme comprised of Iqra, Amanpreet Singh, Prabsimran, Sumeet Sawhney and Vaishali. The stage handling and comparing was done by Monika and Smily. Thereafter the students presented their colourful cultural items like Dance (Vasbi), Solo song (Updesh), Poetry (Shivani and Vaishali), Speech (Mansi Bamba), Folk song (Rajni), Shayari (Asiya) etc. which filled the audience with thrill and mesmerised them all to the stage of being spellbound. The programme concluded with presentation of Vote of Thanks by Iqra followed by sumptuous lunch to all .
