Jammu, Mar 7 - Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman of JKNPP today constituted the Election Campaign Committee for ensuing Lok Sabha polls under the chairmanship of Harsh Dev Singh with Bharat Bhushan Kotwal Advocate as its Vice-Chairman, Bansi Lal Sharma, as Member Secretary of the committee.
The other members nominated to the committee include Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA, Yashpal Kundal, MLA, Faqir Nath, ex-MLA, Anita Thakur, Ghulam Mohammed Shan, S. Daljit Singh, Ghulam Ali Engineer, H.C. Jalmeria, P.K. Ganju, Shanti Swaroop Basotra, Iqbal Choudhary, R.S. Manju and Vilakshan Singh.
Prof. Singh has also re-designated Districts Panthers Committees as Districts Election Committees with immediate effect which shall work under the direction, supervision and guidance of the Election Campaign Committee. Districts Presidents shall act as Presidents of District Election Committees, a party release said.
In addition to the District committees some Zonal Committees have also been constituted namely. The Billawar, Zonal Election Committee including Bani, Basohli and Billawar shall be headed by Shanti Basotra while the Batote, Zonal Election Committee shall be headed by Ajaj Ahmed. The Zone shall include Asar-Bugger, Batote-Sanasar, Bulundh Pur areas. Basharat Ali shall head the Ramkote Zonal Election Committee, Raghubir Singh Manoj Gupta shall be Zonal Vice-Presidents of the Election Committee while Devinder Singh shall be President of Gandoh-Bhalesa Zonal Election Committee.
The Districts Election Committees Presidents have been authorized to constitute a Block and local Zonal Committees.
In the absence of the Chairman of JKNPP, Harsh Dev Singh shall preside over the meeting of the Parliamentary Board to select the candidates of the Lok Sabha from Jammu and Kashmir. He has been authorized to interact with other political parties for the adjustment of seats with other parties, the release added.
