JAMMU: A jawan has deserted the army, fleeing with three rifles and ammunition, and joined Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Doda district, police said.
Zaffarullah Khan Parray of Behlulia, Doda escaped from Anta camp of the territorial army unit in Dachan area with two AK rifles, one insas rifle, five AK magazines, twi insas magazines and some ammunition last night, police said.
The army and police launched a major operation to track down the absconding jawan, who had apparently joined the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit, they said. Police have registered a case.
