| Zanskar deputation calls on CM | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8- A deputation of Zanskar led by Punchok Tashi Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here today and apprised him about the pending demands of Zanaskar sub division.
The demands put forth by the delegation included grant of district status to Zanskar, construction of irrigation canals for Pishu, Shilingskait and Karsha, improvement of Kargil-Padam road, construction of airstrip at Zanskar, up gradation of Middle schools at Zangla, Itchar and Tungri, introduction of Science stream in Higher Secondary School Padum, opening of sub-board office at Zanskar and Degree college at Zanskar.
According to the LAHDC handout the Chief Minister is reported to have assured the deputation that government is giving top priority in providing the basic infrastructure in rural areas in a phased manner.
Those in the deputation included Stanzin Norboo, Councilor, Cha Lungnak, Tsewang Gyalpo vide president Buddhist Association Zanskar, Tsewang Chostar president Buddhist Youth Association, Sonam Stobgias Jimmy and Abdul Razaq.
