Jammu, Mar 8-The Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Mubarak Singh has asked the sanitation staff to gear up the sanitation drive and remove garbage/ refuse from the dumping and collection points as per fixed schedule so as to create better sanitation atmosphere in the city of temples.
This direction was passed by the Municipal Commissioner during his extensive tour of the localities falling within the limits of Municipal Corporation today. He also inspected various spots and issued on the spot instructions for cleaning of major nallahs in the city on regular basis and well before the on set of monsoon to avoid flood like situation during the rainy season.
During the inspection the team accompanying the Commissioner, also checked the samples of milk and other food items and destroyed 1.5 quintals of sub-standard milk and imposed fine of Rs.1600 on the defaulting milk vendors.
