Udhampur, May 11: City Sports Academy successfully concluded the Shooting Talent Hunt Contest, an initiative organized in collaboration with Udhampur District Rifle Shooting Association.
The contest, which ran from May 2 to May 11, 2024, aimed to promote shooting as a sport in Udhampur and identify potential future Olympians. Udhampur City Sports Academy, under the leadership of its founder, Mr. Sumit Sharma, established a state-of-the-art facility to provide the youth of Udhampur with exceptional training opportunities.
The contest attracted over 120 enthusiastic participants, and its success was largely attributed to the expertise of Mr. Kirpal Singh, a certified shooting instructor who imparted fundamental shooting skills to the young participants. Following the contest, Udhampur City Sports Academy plans to organize an interschool shooting competition after the summer vacation. This initiative is supported by key members of UDRSA, including Mr. Ashok Kumar (former Director SMVDSB and Vice President SGFI), Mr. Vineet Gupta (General Secretary UDRSA), and Mr. Balwaan Singh Jamwal. Their dedication and collaboration were instrumental in making the event a resounding success. |
