| Nomadic Gujjars ask for fresh population survey | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8- Jammu and Kashmir Khana Badosh Gujjar and Bakerwal Tehreek-e-Insaaf at a meeting has demanded fresh survey of nomad/migratory population of the state and developing a colony where cluster of houses should be raised on the analogy of tenements constructed by the government for the Kashmiri migrants at Magi and other places with all basic amenities of life as the suffering of this class of the society is more grievous than those of Kashmiri migrants. Mohammed Aslam Kohli state president in a handout has also demanded that the Government should nominate Vice Chairman for Gujjar and Bakerwal Advisory Board from amongst the nomadic class of the society so that the interests of Gujjars and Bakerwals in general and nomadic/migratory population in particular are taken care of. The government should provide sufficient land for construction of building as well as other infrastructure required to run 200 mobile schools both at Jammu and Srinagar and the youth belonging to the nomadic community should be absorbed in government departments on the basis of middle pass as they are unable to get higher education owing to the less avenues of getting better education, Kohli demanded.
