| Demand for Sudhmahadav-Doda road | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8- Hundreds of people of illaqa Mermat of Doda district and Sudhmahadev in Udhampur district at a meeting held at Sudhmahadev have jointly formed a committee with Lal Chand Musafir, Vice President National Conference district Udhampur as its chairman and Faiz Ullah Salaria and Pritam Chand as its vice chairmen. The Committee has been formed to press the government to take up construction of an alternate road to Doda district via Sudhmahadev-Doranga (Marmat). The newly formed committee maintained that the proposed road shall not only connect one lakh population of Marmat with Jammu but also connect Doda as an alternate and safest and shortest road. The other members elected to the committee include Nazir Ahmed Wani secretary, Subash Gupta joint secretary, Mohammed Azim Mir Coordinator and Farooq Hussain Wani Cashier. The committee shall have 15 members who are to be elected in the working committee meeting, the handout said. Lal Chand has also demanded construction of fly over bridge at Kud bazar to avoid traffic jamming on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
