Farooq criticizing Modi to mask NC’s diminishing relevance: Kavinder
Lotus to bloom in J&K, Punjab & across country on June 4

GURDASPUR, May 13: Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Monday condemned NC President Farooq Abdullah for criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi by leveling baseless allegations.
The BJP stalwart was addressing public meetings in Punjab’s Gurdaspur in connection with Lok Sabha poll campaigning.
He appealed to the electorate to vote in favour of Dinesh Singh Babbu, who is the candidate of the Saffron party from Gurdaspur Constituency. He said that on June 4, the lotus will bloom in J&K, Punjab and all across the country as people are backing the saffron party as never before.
He said that National Conference (NC) leadership, particularly Farooq Abdullah, seems to be resorting to desperate measures, including baseless criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, to mask their frustration over their diminishing political relevance in the region. It is pertinent to mention that in a recent statement, Farooq Abdullah has attacked the BJP leadership, including Prime Minister Modi, in what appears to be a thinly veiled attempt to divert attention from the NC’s failure to connect with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kavinder said it has become evident that the NC, faced with the loss of political ground and public support, is resorting to cheap tactics to stay relevant. He said that the time has come to remind Farooq Abdullah and the NC leadership that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have moved beyond the politics of division and appeasement and they are now seeking development, peace, and prosperity, which the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi has been ensuring in a tireless manner.
“As a responsible political party, the BJP condemns such desperate attempts to mislead the public and create unrest in the region”, he said and asked the NC leadership to engage in constructive dialogue and work towards the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir, instead of indulging in petty politics.
