| NDP suggests governing body to monitor working of private institutions | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8- Strongly criticizing the state government for its lack of control on private schools, the National Democratic Party has threatened to launch state wide agitation. In a press statement issued here today, the Party president Ravi Bakshi has alleged that most of the government aided private schools are charging exorbitant fee from children and there is no proper control of the government on such schools. He said that some of these schools are even charging Rs.600 to Rs.1000 as printing charges annually and suggested formulation of the governing body which will have control on such institutions. The NDP President has also stressed the need of proper monitoring over the functioning of Government hospitals and nursing homes and sought fixation of proper guidelines and fee structure as per grading. He also laid stress on keeping a check on the doctors who are operating their private hospitals even during duty hours in Government hospitals. He said there is an immediate need to streamline the health system and ensuring presence of doctors and para- medicos in rural and remote areas where doctors manage their transfers and attachments at tehsil, district headquarters leaving people of the area to suffer. The concerned health minister should take immediate cognizance of the matter, Bakshi maintained.
