Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 13: Police subdivision Nagrota in order to increase surveillance & monitoring in rural areas flanked by national Highway has come up with unique and innovative idea of Beat Booth. These beat booths shall be designated in each beat of all the police stations to make accessibility of police more frequent & effective.
This will also ensure prompt response and mobility in case of exigencies as there shall be more frequent touring and visits of police officers and officials in these beat booths .
Rural areas being vast and far are hard to dominate effectively as their are 25 Beats in the Subdivision Nagrota i.e. 15 of PS Nagrota and 10 of PS Jajjar Kotli and this beat booth system shall enhance capabilities of police for Rural patrolling. And it will definitely help in better monitoring and surveillance of areas and persons with suspicious backgrounds with active participation of public. Beat Booths shall have detailed information of all villages and mohallas and also contact numbers under provision of Dial your police station & Dial your police Subdivision for the assistance of general public.
The aim of designating beat booths is to strengthen the policing at ground level and to make redressal of public grievances at their doorsteps. The strengthening campaign was carried by SDPO Nagrota, SHOs Nagrota & Jhajar Kotli under supervision of SP Rural Jammu.
Public has welcomed this step of jammu police and expressed hope that this will further enhance public police relations.
