| Biased gander approach will prove pernicious | | |

The recent unfortunate act of use of muscle power by the goons of the so called social organization namely Ram Sena upon the female fraternity who were enjoying their life in the Pubs in the Manglore with out under any coercion or pressure from any body outside their social circles asks for severe snubbing by all and sundry.In fact such an act exposed our commitment to afford an honourable space to the soft sex in this ever fast growing developing world where things have changed entirely due to the advent of information and technology .Such a mishappening has sent shocking signals across the country about the safety ,security and social standing of the women in this male dominated society. Keeping in view the present case one can safely conclude that her status is still under infantile state to grow and to be recognized despite the fact that she has lent till date a very valuable contribution in the mobilization of the human civilization but there are certain elements who cannot afford to digest her progress. Day in and day out.one comes the reports of atrocities committed upon her in the different parts of the world as well in India. In the recent months we had come across the news through different print and media channels that in Afghanistan women and girls have been denied the access to education and their other rights pertaining liberty to live with dignity have been squeezed.Thus striking a comparison with this Manglore’s incident it looks as if we are also heading towards Talibinazation gradually.
The most painstaking thing to note down was the politicization of the issue rather than prompt reaction to redress the flared task.Our central health Minister Sh. Ramdoss and Chief Minister of Rajasthan defended the incident by openly stating that pub culture is a gift of the Westernization which will not be tolerated in the Indian society to pollute the atmosphere.There are other instances to quote where such issues were openly objected which includes Hollywood actor Richard Gere’s Kiss ing to Indian cinestar acteress Shilipa Shetty.A lot of hue and cry was made even then .Certain sections of the society even had differences over Tamil actress Khushboo ‘s personal view of free premarital sex and use of the condoms etc.Even tennis fame Sania Mirza had to bow before the public sentiments and have to change her statement over her comments over the proposed secret sex proposal.A few years ago the separatists had dictated the women folk to abide their directions in maintaing the dress code in the Kashmir valley as well though it is another matter that presence of the security forces over there changed the scenario in the favour of the women to heave a sigh of relief.
Amidst such glaring examples one fails to comprehend that do women occupy the respectable status in our India or it is still a myth.If we go by the historical events then we will come across our past culture of Konark temple ,Khujaraos sculpture art work ,Vatsyan kamsutra etc which depicts candidly the naked pictures leading tothe inducements and sexsual excitement.Such rosy pictures have been given the status of our past glorious cultural heritage
and crores of rupees are being spent in their preservation but no body has so far objected to them.Not only this Mujra sanskriti is still very much prevalent in Maharashtra,West Bengal,Delhi and other metropolitan cities of India like Hyderabad and Kanpur but no action has ever been heard to stem that rot.Then why alone Mangalore‘s Pub were targeted .This aspect needs to be probed seriously.Was this an attempt to gain a political mileage in the electioneering year.If otherwise .then so called reformers why do not take action poronographic culture or films based on the sex script which have truly polluted
the minds of the younger generation and captivated their feelings on the wrong footing.
Such irrelevant myopic acts really projects the height of the backwardness and imbibed inqualitative education.
At least in India we cannot offer such forcible solutions to any problem because we have a very composite and hetergenous culture.On one hand we rate the women equal to the diety and on the other hand we thrash her in full public view after chasing her.This equation does not materialize our ideology of secular and egalitarian growth and development for healthy democratic set up.No body is abov e the law of the land and law should be allowed to take its own course of action .Those who are so keen about the welfare of the women folk must realize other aspects through which a woman could be compensated and her problem redressed.Had any one tried to stop the victimization of the women from forcible eve teasing ,rape, dowry death, molestation,child labour,immoral trafficking ,prostitution and above domestic violence etc.These social issues are core sociological issues which demands psychological treatments but unfortunately no body is serious enough to settle the demand of the time.
