| Bhim candidate for Kathua-Doda LS seat | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 8- Harsh Dev Singh, Vice-Chairman of the JKNPP today declared that, Prof. Bhim Singh shall contest election to Lok Sabha seat from Udhampur. He told the media-persons this afternoon that, the Parliamentary Board has declared his name unanimously as he is the most experienced, courageous, highly educated personality and a renowned human-right activist and a Parliamentarian, and shall be a befitting and most appropriate person to represent the suffering and neglected people of Jammu Pardesh, who have remained unrepresented for the last 50 years in the Parliament. Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yashpal Kundal, MLAs, State President Bansi Lal Sharma and several senior party leaders were also present at the press conference. Prof Bhim Singh had won Lok Sabha bi-election in 1998 defeating his Congress rival, yet the Election Commission didn’t declare Bhim Singh as successful instead Election Commission declared Congress candidate as successful although Prof Singh had established a lead of 32,000 votes. Later, Justice K.K. Gupta of J&K High Court had quashed the said election of the Congress candidate, Harshdev said. About other constituencies in Jammu & Kashmir, Harsh Dev Singh said that, he has been authorized to negotiate with other political parties.
