| Rubiya Syed kidnapping case | | Defence Counsel completes arguments on transfer applications | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 9- In a much publicized kidnapping of Dr. Rubiya Syed, daughter of then Union Home Minister and former state Chief Minister Muftiti Mohammed Syed and killing of Air force personnel, the alleged accused involved in the case have filed transfer application of cases from Jammu TADA Court to Srinagar TADA Court. Senior Advocate ZA Shah assisted by Yogesh Bakshi Advocate who appeared for the JKLF Supremo Mohammed Yaseen Malik and Ors completed their arguments today. The Presiding Officer TADA Court Jammu has asked the CBI to argue on the transfer application on next date of hearing. Today JKLF Supremo Yaseen Malik, Showkat Ahmed Bakshi, Javid Mir alias Nalka, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi were present in the court where as court exempted Iqbal Gandroo, Mehraj-ud-Din, Javid Zargar and other accused facing trial in both the cases. Mohammed Rafiq alias Nana ji was produced from the Udhampur Jail in custody. It is worthwhile to mention here that Dr. Rubiya Syed daughter of then Union Home Minister Mufti Mohammed Syed, was kidnapped by the alleged accused persons while she was going to hospital in the month of December, 1989 and demanded release of five hardcore militants of JKLF. Rubiya Syed was released by the kidnappers on the release of five hardcore militants of JKLF. The accused are also facing trial in a case of killing five air-force officials in the month of January 1990 while they were waiting for their Air-Force bus at Batmaloo, Srinagar. Both the cases were investigated by the Country’s prime investigating Agency CBI and presented challan in the Court of TADA which were pending for framing charges for the last more than 17 years. On behalf of accused persons an application was filed for transfer of cases from TADA Court Jammu to Srinagar TADA Court which came for hearing today before the TADA Court Jammu. After hearing the arguments on transfer application the Court adjourned the case for further hearing from the prosecution side. JNF
