GDC Darhal hosts informative lecture on health and hygiene

DARHAL, May 18: Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal organized an educational lecture on Health and Hygiene today, drawing enthusiastic participation from second-semester students as well as students from nearby Higher Secondary schools. The event featured presentations and interactive sessions led by health experts from the Health Department, aiming to raise awareness about essential health practices.
The lecture, coordinated by the college's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) under the leadership of Dr. M Saleem Wani and Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, respectively, was a significant initiative towards promoting health education. Principal Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza chaired the event, with faculty members Dr. Ghulam Abbas, Dr. Taseem, and Prof. Anzar Ahmed also in attendance.
The experts covered a range of topics, including nutrition, hygiene practices, disease prevention, and the importance of regular medical check-ups. Students were encouraged to engage actively during the interactive sessions, asking questions and discussing health-related concerns with the specialists.
The lecture aimed to instill practical health tips and habits in the students, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good health. According to the organizers, the event was highly successful, fostering a greater understanding of health and hygiene among the participants. They expressed their intent to hold similar events in the future to continue enhancing health awareness within the campus and the broader community.
