Interactive Seminar on "Cyber Security and Hygiene" Held at Govt Polytechnic for Women

JAMMU, May 18: An enlightening seminar on "Cyber Security and Hygiene" was conducted today in the conference hall of Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu. The session was led by Er. Neeraj Dubey, an Associate Professor at GCET, Jammu, and a renowned cyber security expert in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Er. Dubey is known for his extensive efforts in spreading awareness about cyber security, aiming to educate 50,000 stakeholders on this crucial topic.
During the seminar, Er. Dubey engaged the attendees with an interactive talk covering safe internet usage, cyber hygiene, security issues, and remedies. He emphasized practical measures such as using secure websites and enabling two-factor authentication. The session was enriched with interactive videos and practical demonstrations, which were highly appreciated by the participants.
Er. Suket Gupta, Principal of Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu, welcomed Er. Dubey and expressed gratitude for his invaluable contribution. He highlighted the significance of the seminar, particularly for the girl students, emphasizing the need for awareness about the potential misuse of internet tools and AI. Er. Gupta stressed the importance of understanding cyber security to safeguard against digital threats and encouraged students to adopt the recommended security practices.
The program was coordinated and composed by Er. Deepika Sharma, a lecturer in the Computer Engineering Department. The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members of the Electronics and Communication (E&C) and Computer Engineering Departments. The interactive nature of the session, combined with the practical demonstrations, ensured that the attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of cyber security and its importance in today's digital age.
This seminar marks a significant step towards empowering students with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the digital world safely, reflecting the institution's commitment to providing holistic education and promoting cyber awareness.
