DC discusses arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2024

SAMBA, May 18: Deputy Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma has asked stakeholder departments to adopt proactive approach and put in coordinated efforts to make holistic arrangements for the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra. He was chairing a meeting convened to discuss the arrangements for smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath ji Yatra 2024 in Samba and its outskirts on National Highway. He stressed to make requisite arrangements at all the 26 lodgement centres established at different places in the district Samba for hassle-free conduct of the yatra.
The DC said that the District Administration will make all efforts for providing best facilities to the yatris by making adequate provision of basic amenities like drinking water, sanitation, electricity, lodging etc. Moreover, 02 RFID issuing counters shall be set up at Chichi Mata and Nonath Ashram for Yatris.
He directed the concerned departments to formulate a comprehensive sanitation, health, traffic management and lodging plan for the comfort of Yatries. Besides, the arrangement for displaying digital screens, banners, installation of sign boards at prominent places to facilitate the stakeholders with 360 degree feedback was also discussed in the meeting. He directed the NHAI officials to prioritise the construction works and install sign boards at diversions. The meeting was attended by SSP Samba, Vinay Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Suresh Chander, SDM Vijaypur and Ghagwal, Executive Engineer PDD, PHE & PWD, DIO, Tehsildars, DIO and other district Officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
