DPS Kathua hosts Inter-School Zone Level Cricket, Football Tournament

KATHUA, May 20: Under the banner of District Youth Services and Sports Kathua, Delhi Public School Kathua hosted the Inter-School Zone Level Tournament (Marheen Zone) for cricket and football today. This prestigious event features boys and girls competing in the Under- 14 & 17 category, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and athletic excellence among young athletes in the district.
The tournament commenced with an official kick-off by Vivek Arora, the esteemed Principal of DPS Kathua. Arora's participation in the opening ceremony set a tone of enthusiasm and sportsmanship for the event. Addressing the students, Principal Arora extended his best wishes, encouraging all participants to exhibit true sportsman spirit and to strive for excellence in their respective sports.
In his address, Principal Arora also extended a warm welcome and expressed his appreciation for the selection and supervision team from the office of the Physical Education Officer Marheen. The team members include:
Mohinder Paul, I.C ZPEO Marheen, Vijay Kumar (PEM), Football Game Incharge and Mohan Lal Dub, Cricket Game Incharge
Assistant Incharges: Sham Lal, Rakesh (PET) Football, and Vivek Kumar (REK) Football
Special acknowledgment was given to Jagmohan, PGT PHE, and Amandeep Sharma, PGT PHE from DPS Kathua, for providing essential ground-level support. Their contributions were highly appreciated by the representatives from the office of the Zonal Physical Education Officer Marheen.
The tournament aims to foster healthy competition, teamwork, and physical fitness among young athletes in the district. It provides a platform for students to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience in competitive sports.
Numerous schools from within the tehsil Marheen are participating in the event, promising exciting matches and a display of remarkable skills. The organizers have ensured all necessary arrangements for a smooth and enjoyable tournament, highlighting their commitment to promoting sports and physical education in the region.
