| Class IV vacancies to be referred to DDCs | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, MARCH 09-Minister for Forests Mian Altaf Ahmad today said in the Legislative Council during Zero Hour, that all the class IV vacancies would be referred to respective District Development Commissioners for recruitment, in a time-bound manner. The Minister was replying to a point raised by Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil on the issue. During the Zero Hour, various other members raised the issues of public concern and sought attention of the Government for addressing them. Deputy Chairman, S. Arvinder Singh pleaded for safeguarding the interest of minority communities in Srinagar. Ali Mohammad Sofi sought early widening and renovation of Karan Nagar- Qamarwari road, for which project report has been formulated. Mohammad Sharief Niaz drew the attention of the Government towards the physically challenged people of tehsil Bhelesa and sought Medical facilities for them. Jehangir Ahmad Mir demanded adequate ration, drinking water and power, besides transport facilities on the eve of Id-Milad-un-Nabi for devotees. Lal Mohammad Sabir demanded early completion of Sakhi Maidan- Kalai and TV Tower-Basohli roads of Poonch district. Mohammad Rashid Qureshi demanded re-survey of old age beneficiaries in Poonch district and Mr. Nasrullah strongly demanded air sorties for Kargil bound passengers stranded in Jammu and Srinagar. Ali Mohammad Bhat demanded de-silting of khulls in Ganderbal district and Mr.Niazam-ud-Din Khatana drew the attention of the Government towards the purchase of sub-standard medicines by Sheep Husbandry Department and Mr. R.S. Chib raised the issue of paddy production in Kathua and R.S. Pura areas. M. Y. Taing paid tributes to Prof. Ram Nath Shastri who passed away yesterday. He said that the deceased would be remembered for his contribution in including Dogri in the Eight Scheduled of the Constitution of India. Mr. G. S. Charak also paid rich tributes to late Prof. shastri.
