Sai Shyam College organizes Anti-Tobacco & Anti-Drug awareness program

JAMMU, May 20: The NSS Unit of Sai Shyam College of Education, Ghou-Manhasan, Jammu, in collaboration with "MASHWARA" - Anti Addiction Centre Purkhoo-Domana, organized an impactful Anti-Tobacco & Anti-Drug awareness program at the premises of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Ghou-Manhasan, Jammu.
Renuka Nagpal, Principal of Govt. Higher Secondary School Ghou-Manhasan, was the chief guest for the occasion. In her speech, she emphasized the serious issues posed by tobacco and drug addiction, urging the students to stay away from these harmful substances.
The event featured Kimi Parihar, Incharge of Mashwara De-Addiction Centre, along with her colleagues Rudrakshi Raina and Deepak Bhatia as the resource persons. Kimi Parihar introduced the efforts made by their NGO in combating addiction among the youth and the broader population. Her presentation, supported by a detailed PowerPoint display, was well-received by everyone present.
Prof. H. K. Kichloo from Sai Shyam College of Education spoke about the dangers of addiction and proposed several remedies to help control this societal menace.
Rudrakshi Raina addressed some emerging problems faced by students, followed by an interactive session where students shared their concerns and received guidance from the Mashwara Team officials.
Akhtar Hussain, Lecturer at Higher Secondary School, conducted the proceedings of the event, while Komal Sambyal, NSS Programme Officer, delivered a formal vote of thanks. The program concluded with light refreshments served to the students and participants.
This awareness program underscored the importance of education and community involvement in tackling tobacco and drug addiction, aiming to foster a healthier, addiction-free future for the youth.
