5 bovine smugglers arrested, 13 bovines rescued

SAMBA, May 20: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Police has foiled bovine smuggling attempt during the early morning hours in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, arrested five bovine smugglers and rescued thirteen bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
A police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO PS Ghagwal has successfully foiled bovine smuggling attempt, arrested five bovine smugglers and rescued thirteen bovines which were being smuggled by foot near Samotra Channi via border road. All the rescued bovines have been shifted to safer place.
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Ali S/o Navab Din R/o Kattal Chhani, Kathua, Jafar Hussain S/o Hashim Din R/o Jandi, Kathua, Talab Hussain S/o Makhan Din R/o Jandi, Kathua, Murad Ali S/o Arshan Ali R/o Jandi, Kathua and Mashoom Ali S/o Arshad Ali R/o Katal, Kathua.
A case FIR No. 71/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
