Symposium on Gandhian principles organized by Cluster University of Jammu

JAMMU, May 22: The Department of Students Welfare, in collaboration with the School of Social Sciences at Cluster University of Jammu, organized a symposium on the theme "Relevance of Gandhian Principles in the 21st Century." The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, fostering a rich discussion on the enduring significance of Mahatma Gandhi's ideas in contemporary times. Dr. Roshi Charak commenced the event with a formal welcome note. Eleven students from the Department of Commerce and History participated in the symposium, showcasing their understanding and perspectives on Gandhian principles. The competition was evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising Dr. Neetu Kumari, Coordinator of Commerce, Dr. Niharika Panda, Assistant Professor at the School of Teacher Education, and Dr. Nitin Chandel, Assistant Professor in the Department of History. Gunveen Kour secured the first position, followed by Gurpreet Kour and Tofeeq Ahmed, who claimed the second and third positions, respectively. All participants delved into the relevance of Gandhian thoughts, emphasizing their applicability in achieving a peaceful and harmonious life in the modern world. Dr. Ranvijay Singh, Dean of Students Welfare, served as the chief guest and enlightened the attendees with his insights on how Gandhiji's path can guide them towards a fulfilling life. Dr. Vishal Sharma, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance and contemporary relevance of Gandhiji's principles.
